How did the name Wet Paint come about?
I made the name before Wet Paint was a duo, I guess I just thought it was a cool analogy for the music that I was inspired by / trying to create at that time.
Where did the inspiration for, ‘Setting the Stage’ come about? Tell us little bit about the creation process behind the track.
We were messing around with some tribal African vocal chants and basically just made an epic beat. We were definitely going for a WSN vibe for the intro then hyped it up into a KNK style future bass type groove.
How did the guys meet?
A mutual friend knew that we were both using Ableton Live to mess with samples and make beats. We were both pretty into sampling old funk and soul beats at the time.
Most inspiring moment in music so far?
Shambhala Music Festival 2015 by far. The place is so impressive. The weather in western Canada is amazing. The sound quality of the PK Sound speakers is insane. It basically rattles your body. The lineup is always on point and the vibes are great.
What can Wet Paint fans expect for the rest of 2016?
Full length album, couple remixes, live mix (or two), tour, more stupid ass Instagram stuff. We’re really interested to tour Canada more but also come back to the US!
